The "awesome" argument. We've never actually come to a conclusion on that one, and it's a matter of opinion on whether the definition of the word is hindered by usage.
I'd say that God is definitely the MOST awesome, but other things can be awesome too.

See, only God is truly awesome. As sinful beings, we can't imagine what God actually looks like. It is my opinion that when something is truly awesome (awe-inspiring), then we are seeing a little peice of what we think God is like. The sad thing is, our culture has twisted that word to be used to refer to anything one thinks is cool; rather than the true definition which according to my old pal Mr. Webster is "expressive of awe." So basically, I would encuorage ya'll to say some is "awesome" unless it truly inspires awe (which is defined as "an emotion variously combining dread, veneration, and wonder.")
That's my two cents :)

Chris, do you say cool to mean that something is nice or cold? By definition, cool means "moderately cold; neither warm nor cold" but we use it to mean something particularly excellent.
We also use sweet incorrectly as well.
Not to mention that a lot of things cause awe other than God. God is the MOST awesome, but other things can also inspire awe.
And "Chrisper", where are you working in SC08? I don't see your name on the roster; are you in and they just made a mistake?
It is my belief that the reason things other than God can inspire awe is because they are showing some charicteristic of God (size, beauty, complexity, etc...). I Do agree that our culture mis-uses many words but awesome is one of the worst mis-uses because it's it tones down the true meaning of the word.

Hey, I just found something. In the first pic, the one that says "WELCOME TO SC 2008", if you look at the handprints in the tree below the bird, the one second to the far left had four fingers.
I wonder how that guy lost his finger...
