18 days and counting...

OK, it is that time of year to talk about Summer Celebration games.

Boy, girls and volunteers here is what we are planning for:

1. Dodge ball
2. Capture the Flag
3. Squirt (the water volleyball game)
4. Relay Races

If you have some suggestions for group games that should replace what we are planning for, now is the time to let me and Josh know. Shoot us off a comment with your suggestions.

I can hardly wait for Monday, July 9th at 9am! Only 18 days!

Sounds great to me! Are we going to have a cross-country type race on the last day this year? Another game we used to play at the Celebration conference was Speedball. It's just like soccer, except you can use your hands. That's another idea...

I can't wait for SC!

wow I can't believe its only in 18 days.... I think the list is pretty good and I am glad you added relay races oh I remember those being my fav in celebration and also another suggestion would be that instead of capture the flag for the little kids to have obstacle courses for them because some of the kids got a little tired of playing dodge ball so many times I think they ended up playing it 3x and plus obstacle courses are always fun

diddo what becca said about the obstacle courses for the younger kids. i remember last year a bunch of the kids saying taht they were sick of dodgeball towards the end of the week. I'd hate for them to have a bad taste of dodgeball at only 6 years old... :) BUt all the other games sound good... can't wait!

ps - becca, you didn't use a single punctuation mark in your entire comment... :)

Stone, Uncle Sam, and Red Rover, are always fun....might want to scratch the Red Rover, sometimes kids get hurt. :P

I've always liked the obstacle courses... I think it would be cool to try and add a new game every year or rotate old games in... just a thought.

I"M SO HAPPY YOU DECIDED TO DO RELAY RACES AGAIN!!! That's a great thing to bring back! Thanks for working so hard on this!

Amoeba/blob is where there is one 'it' who tries to tag the other players that run around. When a player is tagged, they hold hands with or link arms with the 'it', and then must run around trying to tag more people. The big line of 'its' cannot split up, making it increasingly difficult to maneuver around.

Stone/octopus is where you have one 'it'. All the other players line up at one end of the field. When the 'it' says go, all the players run across to the other end of the field, while the 'it' tries to tag them. If anyone is tagged, they must freeze where they are tagged. They can't move their feet, but they try to tag any other players that run by.

You guys mean the THG for SC, right? Yeah, that is kinda odd...

Anonymous said...

they're prolly just really busy rehearsing... :)

Anonymous said...

oh well... if any of you guys know anyone from the THG (i don't), why don't you mention to 'em that they might want to comment now and then. Just a suggestion. ;)

I know who everyone on the THG is, but only actually know one.
