very mexico, but I like it...would the letters and numbers be shuffled among team members, not just between the teams? I think it would be much more visually interesing if it was truly random across the board.

I still like the nametag idea, though...

Anonymous said...

Actually, I don't really like it. I didn't really like the Mexico shirts either.

Anonymous said...

I don't really agree with the colors...
How come the letters/numbers not match with the team names... Oh! I get it!
Why don't you do light blue for the background? On the front put a club house, not a tree house. And on the back say,"Summer Celebrationers Only." Or you can put a list of "rules." They can be serious or just plain silly. Like the ones we had in the 4-6 grade class...Don't put peanut butter and jelly in other people's shoes.
Or you should do the ones they had in Godspell.
RULES:
~Obey all rules
~Do not color on the walls for it is very hard to get paint of of walls
I know that is copying, but that was really funny.

Was it paint?
I think I said it wrong...

umm...don't want to be rude but i don't like it at all. it is just like our MEX06 shirts. it is not really fun if you end up with a 7 or whatever. thanks for keeping our options open though!

yeah sorry, not really feelin the shirts...i think some cool design on the front like last years! i think we can do more interesting colors than that blue...maybe like sky blue

Anonymous said...

That is sorta what I meant.
Light blue and sky blue are mainly the same color.

So Mr. B add another sky/light blue in the "votes."
:)

ummm...sorry caleb, copies mex shirts way too much. i like simple but cool designs. mr. b...last years were actually pretty cool. just don't do white. way too plain.

Anonymous said...

I love the idea but would those be the colors?

Anonymous said...

Whatever design we use, can we make the shirts the team's color. Like the kid's were last year.

Anonymous said...

I dont really like it that much (sorry caleb) I like sophies idea about the blue... maybe they could be like the godspell usher shirts..Like on the back how it had the splat of paint on it? I thought that was pretty cool. I still really like last years shirts though...

Anonymous said...

I don't really like the colors.
What about the first letter of the team name? Like a red shirt with a big G on it.

I really like the nametag idea! Most of the kids (older ones at least) want to write on their shirts anyway.

I think either all the volunteers' shirts should be the same color (anything but white -- gray's good though) or we should match our team's color.

And I'm assuming that the team colors are the same as last year, RIGHT?? (I have invested a lot of money in blue stuff, Mike!!! hehe)

Anonymous said...

don't care for it as much... i *really* liked last years shirts, just not white. i do like the grey for the volunteer's shirts... a bible verse on the back would be cool too.

Anonymous said...

i like the sun and hand logo (can we just put that on the front; if girls have long hair, whatever is put on the back gets lost); i don't find the individual letters/numbers very effective (didn't care for them on the mexico shirts, either).

Anonymous said...

it seems like almost everyone likes last years logo, just not the white color.

it seems like not alot of people are in favor of the shirts with just the letter on them. or the colors.

maybe something like this

c
summer
l
e
b
r
a
t
i
'07
n

on the back of the shirt and on the front of it maybe that handprinted sun logo with an empty center so us and all the kids could do our own hand print. or the same logo as last year except in a different color. just a few ideas :)

Anonymous said...

oops, i meant for the c to line up with the e from summer

Anonymous said...

A word on Grey...
Grey is a great color. You can do it really light, like heather grey, so that it not only stands out as "helpers" rather than kids, but it goes with every team color. (Especially BLUE!) And if you do it light enough kid are going to have no trouble writing on the shirts. Seriously! :) :)

Anonymous said...

those look good, but what do they mean?

Anonymous said...

There way to much like the Mexico shirts. I suggest do something along the same lines as last year, but please do not do white. Also use a different design then last year, it was great, but we want variety.

sean.b said...

Because it's so much like the Mex shirts, I'd prefer something different. I like the idea with all the letters going downwards with summer and 07 stuck in. I like the shirts from last year, even the white!

why don't we put each persons team/job name on the back and the little sun thingy on the front

Elizabeth Kelley said...

Yeah, I'm with Mark. I was thinking that we could do Chris' idea, but flip it around. So, the logo would be on the back, and the team/job on one of the upper corners on the front. And we should have an SC07 on the sleeve, like last year.

Just a thought...

Anonymous said...

ya I'm not too keen on the shirts their like the mexico ones and I didn't really like those either espec if you get stuck with something like a 7 or 0 I agree with mark I really liked last years but variety is nice and I think what Chris said is good with the team/job in like a splash of paint and then the sun pattern on the back or front I don't really care which side and sco7 on the sleeve thats all for now

I like beccas idea! ~ Ellie P.

Anonymous said...

Also i like sophies idea about the godspell rules thing! thats so funny!

I'd opine that a lot of complicated text (rules, etc.) on the shirts will kinda be lost. There should definitely be a way to get a fun, classic design without going overboard. Could Hannah, Jeff M, or some other graphics-minded person take that logo and make a good, solid shirt design with it, do you think?

Stephanie Proule said...

I agree that it is too much like the Mex06 shirts. I prefer the "too creative" designs. Let's definitely get Jeff to design it--then it would be totally awesome!

I do like the colors though.

I think everyone would prefer a shirt like last years, but a little differnent.Intead of a tree do a sun with shine printed inside in different languages( Greek, Hebrew, Spanish, English,Korean Chinese ect) to signify that we are to shine before all men. Having the sun shining down on kiddos playing on a play ground. The look of the design style would be just like last years.
Then the back would have the team name.
The helper/ volunteer shirt would would be the same color as the kids, but it would say Coach or Lead Encouarger above or below the team name. It could also have an E or C on one of the sleeves.
Also could we offer an extra small for the smaller in stature? I don't think the boys really liked wearing a shirt that look like a dress on them!
Hope this was helpful

Anonymous said...

I mostly agree with Jen except for I really think the volunteers' shirts should be a different color than the kids', the more I think about it. It makes it much easier for the (especially little)kids to find and stay with their coaches if they can pick them out by their shirt color.

Anonymous said...

ya I really like Jen's idea but
I would prefer a different color for the helpers. it definatley helps to have dif colors to be able to distinguish the kids from the helpers when your looking from afar and it makes it easier for the kids too

Anonymous said...

Yeah I liked the first year’s shirts in how the volunteers’ shirts were different than the kids’. I also really like the Idea of light grey but not a normal grey but sorta like a charcoal but a lot lighter, and solid. I don’t like blue cuz its normal and most likely to be thought of. And I think its clear we don’t want white!

This is what I would like it to be. the volunteers’ shirts would be grey with their title on the back. I don’t think it should have the sun thing on the front unless its in one of the bottom corners or else it would be to over-powering. It would be cool if the volunteers’ shirts would have SHINE across the front. The kids’ shirts would be the color of their team. If you don’t have the colors yet I like this idea:
Galatians-red
Ephesians-orange
Philippians-green
Colossians-blue
On the back it would have their team name on it and um…that’s pretty much all I’ve got so far.

Jen said...

Juli and Becca have a point it would be much easier for the littl munchkins to spot the volunteers. I'm not real hip on the grey for 2 reasons. 1)Don't you think it would be hot? 2)Grey is not a color that SHINES. How about purple or a color that compliments the team colors.

Anonymous said...

I think-

Ephesians: orange
Colosions: blue
Galatians: Red
Philippians: purple
Volunteers: Gray (too)

Oh, hi Mckenzie. You probably don't know me but I have heard of you. =) See, I'm Tim Yeatman's next door neighbor.

(Sorry about the totally random comment.)

Anonymous said...

oh yeah i think i know you...yeah that was kind of random...but i do

Anonymous said...

that all the time. (sorry forgot to finish my sentence)

lol! =)

what if the teens had the same color as the kids' team colors...just darker. Not to dark for summer though!

Anonymous said...

ok new color......how about cackie...or how ever you spell it...you know what i mean.

Elizabeth Kelley said...

Khaki? Hmm... it could work. I've seen khaki more in pants and such than in shirts. I'm trying to picture it... okay, got it. I still adore the idea of white shirts (pauses for people to scream and shake fists at me), but khaki might work, too.

Anonymous said...

i still vote for grey... we couldn't do purple on the teen's shirts cause then it would be too dark to write on. Our shirts need to look like a totally differant color than the kid's so that they can find us easily.

Elizabeth Kelley said...

Yeah... like white!! :P But seriously, grey doesn't really "shine", and it's not really a cheery colour. We ought to do something lighter.

Anonymous said...

I think we should do teal or or how
about a light orange??? but I also think (what sarah said was good)that having the same color as the kids but a darker shade might me cool

Elizabeth Kelley said...

Well, maybe... I think it would be difficult to make shirts like that that were
a) Not too dark a shade for the middle of July
b) easy to distinguish the teens from the kids

Just my take on the matter...

Anonymous said...

you know we could just do what we did the first year and have the kids be one color and the teens be another. but on the kids' shirts we could have their team name on the back or front.

Mike Bradshaw said...

Wow! You all rock!

Thank you for all the great shirt ideas. We will take these comments and work with them to create (Lord willing) the best SC shirt ever.

I will post the designs when they are created.

Jen said...

I would not like to be in your shoes Mr.B You have got some great suggestions. I think the hardest thing is what to do with the volunteers shirts. Thanks for letting us be a part of the design process. But no matter what the shirts look like or what colors they are this is all so that God will be honored and glorified in their lives. Can't wait to see these kids worshipping God and learning what it means to live thier life for Chirst!
Mrs. Weber

Elizabeth Kelley said...

Yep yep yep!! Totally agree with Mrs. Weber!

Kate said...

i don't really like these... I really liked last years shirts because they had more of a design. its true that our main goal is to glorify God though! can't wait to see what you come up with.

Could the colors be as follows?
Galatians: Red
(my sister Anna says i'm going to anger the blue crew...oh well)
Ephesians: Orange
Colossians: Purple
Phillippians: Green

~natalie s.

Anonymous said...

please, pppllleeeaaassseee have ephesians be orange...i don't really like green for that team.

and please have galatians red or blue instead of yellow.

~natalie s.

Elizabeth Kelley said...

We'll know soon enough, I hope. Has it been decided whether each team will have different colours for their shirts or not?

Anonymous said...

that galatians should be blue? if not, they are totally the BLUE team!
