57 days and counting...

OK volunteers, I need your help. I'm trying to remember the team cheers.

Can you all leave comments with the words to the team cheers?

There have been a bunch of Galatian fans out there. What about the rest of you all?

Let's hear from the Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians.

Only 8 weeks until...

im not sure if this is a normal cheer but heres one. this can be used for all the teams.

"everywhere we go (echo)
ppl want to know (echo)
who we are (echo)
so we tell them (echo)
we are the ------ (echo)
the mighty mighty ------- (echo)"

i know thats a really common one but its all i could think of.

Hey Coaches! Here is the Galatians Challenge: We are going all out! Insane people in blue will overrun Summer Celebration. Our Goal: To make Galatians the coolest team ever! Your challenge: To give us a run for our money.
Who has the most team spirit? I guess we'll find out.

the Galatian team has some incredible cheers in the works for this year. You'll have to wait until the camp to hear them though.

We had a "meeting" recently and the team spirit is absolutely through the roof. (almost literally) The rest of you guys better come ready to scream your heads off and have fun. This could be really boring without any competition.

and Mike, do we have to do the pity points this year. That really kills the vibe. :P

...you cannot escape the team spirit....

...and I spelled "Galatians" wrong....

Oohkay... you guys are just a little bit crazy. :P I'm half- expecting all the Galatians to come in with their hair dyed blue, and the girls will have blue nail polish on.

Question... does anyone even know what team they are assigned to?

I know the Ephesians-

we put on our work clothes and rolled up our sleeves,
lets start workin for ephesians team,
Ephesians are here now, lets give it a shout,
Thats God's work in us, it's what we're about!

(at least this was the old one....)

Hey! Who told about the blue hair? I thought that was a team secret! :)

Lol.

Ohmigoodness. Kylie, you actually _remember_ those? Wow. Lemme see if I can pull the old Galatian one out of my head...

Nope. Sorry. Used to know it..

here is the old philipians one-

I can do all things all things all things I can do all things through Christ who strenghtened me philipians 4:13

um oh and here is the Colossians one-

whatever you do in word or deed do it all in the name of the Lord Colossians 3:17 do it all in the name of the Lord
we had a lot of fun with this one last year the girls loved making up motions/signs to go with the words
GO COLOSSIANS!!!!!!

ok, this is one that i remember from the real celebration :

"We put on our work clothes,
And roll up our sleeves.
It's time to start working
On Ephesians team.
Ephesions are here now,
So give it a shout,
We're God's workmanship,
That's what we're about."

"I can do all things, all things, all things,
I can do all things,
Thruogh Christ who strenghtens me.
Phillipains 4:13!!!(typically screamed)"

and umm....I was on the Galation's team at one point, but i can't hinkg of their chant right now.

i also wanted to say something about the pity points... please no more!!!
GALATIONS!

Anonymous said...

Pity points??? What do you mean?

I already asked this, but got no response.

Has anyone beeen notified about if they are serving?

Elizabeth Kelley said...

I have not, Sophie.

Kate, you lost me.

Anonymous said...

Good, I wasn't sure, because everyone was talking like they already have been notified.

Anonymous said...

i haven't been notified either and ellie p. and abby c. haven't been either.

at least, the last time i talked to them that's what they told me. although i just talked to ellie p. yesterday so she most likely hasn't been notified yet but i haven't talked to abby c. for a couple days.

Due to the fact that GALATIANS ROCK... we're for em! And we just really like any excuse to wear blue.

Seriously though, the Galatians mania is mainly to get the coaches as excited as the littlest of children. Summer Celebration should be about having fun learning about God... the more fun the better. What is more fun than a coach who willingly flings him/herself into a vat of blue dye for team spirit? The real question here is can you handle/top the insanity?

Anonymous said...

Whoa whoa!! wait you think Galatians should be BLUE! No NO It's always RED! in Celebration they always had it RED!

Anonymous said...

OK who is Galatians fan???

(RED FOR GALATIANS!)

RED RED RED (LOL)

Elizabeth Kelley said...

Blue, guys. I know d, but does it really matter, as we don't even have the same teams? I mean, Romans used to be blue,t as we have no Romans... we might as well have Galatians be blue.

I'm betting the Galatians Fan is Juli.

Anonymous said...

Clarification: In the old days when we had banners, team offical cheers, and stickers... the colors were as follows:
Romans-Blue
Galatians-Red
Collosians-Purple
Philippians-Green
Then they added
Ephesians-Orange

But that was another time... this generation is new fresh, and remarkably tropical in color!
Let the Galatians have their new color, we'll just also show up in some accents of red for old time's sake. :)

BTW this ain't Juli... keep guessing!

Anonymous said...

okay, i don't see why everybody is a galatians fan...don't any of you remember that the ephesians one the first summer celebration? they're the best!

~natalie s.
EPHESIANS FAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

i agree with brielle...keep the good old red galatians color!

GO EPHESIANS!!!

EPHESIANS ROCK!!!!!

Elizabeth Kelley said...

Umm... hate to break it to you guys, but the Galatians won at the last "old day" Celebration. As a long-time Galatian, I think I can safely say that hey ROCK!!!

Hmm... not Juli... Charity??

Anonymous said...

I agree with you, Nat: GO EPHESIANS!!!!! Yeah!

Anonymous said...

Wait, Glaltians Fan, are you Charity???

Elizabeth Kelley said...

She said at some point that she was... not quite sure when.
